President’s 2023 Season Welcome
It is here!
For those of us that have spent much of summer waiting for winter, and the rugby season, it is here. For those of us excited to be moving into a new season, literally, it is here.
So much has happened over the past few months that it is hard to know where to begin.
From the fresh club renovations to the new beer system….
From the new Head Coach to the returned legendary Club Coach….
From the re-commitment of our major sponsors to the addition of some brilliant new partners….
From the retention of our core players to the recruitment of some brilliant new club men….
There is so much to look forward to on and off the field in 2023.
But please don’t take my word for it – get down to Forshaw Rugby Park and experience it for yourself!
You’ll still get THE best burger in club rugby - with some new menu items to boot.
You’ll still get THE best beer, a Hairyman - now from the best beer system in the district.
We are sure you will notice the changes. And when you do make sure you say thanks to the people that have driven them - our new Commercial General Manager Grant ‘Skello’ Skelton in particular. Skello hit the ground running just 10 weeks ago and has not stopped since! He is a man on a mission, with an unbridled enthusiasm for our club, and is doing a sensational job.
Jayson Brewer, Matt Barr and the rugby crew have also done something amazing these past few months. They are building something special on the foundations of the last few seasons’ rugby program. There is a genuine joy that rises from every training session, and an excitement about the season ahead.
At the heart of these changes lies a determination to take Southern Districts back to its core.
To restore the club to it foundational identity - as a community rugby club with a heart of gold and will of steel. To restore Forshaw’s reputation as the toughest place to play in the competition, and the best place to watch rugby. To return the Rebels to our rightful place in Sydney Premier Rugby.
