Colts 2025 Pre-Season Training
Start Date: Wednesday, January 15th, 2025.
Location: Forshaw Rugby Park
Training Schedule
Wednesdays: 5:20 PM - 7:30 PM
Thursdays: 5:50 PM - 7:40 PM
Saturdays: 7:15 AM - 9:30 AM
This schedule will run until the trials commence at the beginning of March.
Jake Holman and his coaching and S&C team have worked tirelessly through the holiday break to ensure this next training block is the best yet. Expect a strong focus on fitness, strength, skills training all incorporated into match-play systems, game plans, and instilling Colts values, attitudes, and discipline.
To compete every week with three Colts teams, we need both player numbers and positional body-specific athletes, especially in tight five positions —a unique challenge in rugby compared to league. This requires a well-planned recruitment strategy based on depth charts and an eye toward future seasons, including 2026.
Jake and his team have done an exceptional job recruiting the right players and right people for our Colts program. Countless meetings, Zoom calls, phone calls, and emails have gone into building a squad committed to our values and success.
The Colts program at Southern Districts is fully supported by the board, senior coaches, and the broader club, ensuring players develop both on and off the field. We are confident 2025 will showcase exciting, competitive rugby across all three Colts teams, with players who are passionate about wearing the Southern Districts jumper.
