The Southern Districts Colts concluded a memorable weekend camp at Sinclair's Country Retreat at Conjola, South Coast , thanks to the generous hospitality of Lindsey and Ulla Thytherleigh. The retreat provided the perfect setting for a boot camp experience that combined hard physical work, team bonding, relaxation, and a dose of rugby excitement.
From the Friday night arrival to the mid-morning departure on Sunday, the Colts boys and management staff were immersed in a challenging and rewarding experience. Lindsey and Ulla Thytherleigh's warm welcome ensured that the Colts felt at home throughout their stay.
The weekend was packed with activities designed to foster team unity and physical resilience. Under the guidance of Coach George Gargoulakis and Manager Trevor Walker, the Colts engaged in intense physical workouts, pushing their limits and overcoming challenges. The boot camp experience not only tested their physical abilities but also strengthened the camaraderie among the boys.
The retreat's amenities, including swimming facilities, were utilised exclusively for the Colts, adding a refreshing dimension to the camp. The Southern Districts Colts not only worked hard but also had the opportunity to unwind and relax in a picturesque environment.
A highlight of the weekend was watching the Waratahs' thrilling victory over the Crusaders, providing the perfect backdrop for team bonding and celebrating a shared passion for rugby. The Colts left the retreat not just as club mates but as great friends, solidifying the bonds that will be crucial for a successful 2024 season.
The camp served as the culmination of an intense off-season that began in October. The Colts are now geared up and well-prepared for the upcoming 2024 season, with their first trial scheduled against Randwick tomorrow. Facing a formidable opponent like Randwick will undoubtedly provide a true test of their readiness for the challenges ahead.
Special acknowledgment goes to Coach George Gargoulakis and Manager Trevor Walker for their excellent organisation of the camp. Their efforts, coupled with Lindsey's expertise in running the boot camp, ensured that the boys not only worked hard but also faced challenges that will undoubtedly contribute to their growth as individuals and as a team.
